-4 inch ribbon (you choose the color)
-2 inch ribbon (you choose the color)
First, lay out however much ribbon you want to use to display your cards. Mine’s about 4 feet, I think. I just used whatever was left. You will do this for both types of ribbon.
Then, cut the ribbon. Cut both ends straight. Choose ONE end (this will be the bottom) to cut fancy-style. I did a V so it looked like the tail of a kite.
Take your lighter and carefully burn the ends of the ribbon to cauterize so it doesn’t fray. Try and use the blue part of the flame for this so it doesn’t leave a burn mark in the ribbon. You can go over it fairly quickly. It melts fast.
Lay the ribbons on top of each other and glue them together with the hot glue gun.
Then, cut a piece of the smaller ribbon that is about half of what you used for the length of the display. This is for the bow. Cut the ends how ever you want and cauterize them. I did the kite tails again.
Tie a bow with the ribbon and hot glue it to the straight edge side of your card display. Then, hot glue some twine to the back of the whole thing and that’s what you’ll hang it up with!
I love how it turned out! And I already had everything for it! Spur of the moment DIY projects are the best.
1. Cut ribbon and glue it on top of each other.
2. Cauterize ends you cut.
3. Tie bow and hot glue to the top.
4. Hot glue loop of twine to top.
5. Hang cards with clothes pins!
Do you do something special for your holiday cards?
Until Next Time!
